한국유비쿼터스, 블루레이 제작업 본격 진출


멀티미디어 전문기업 한국유비쿼터스는 7일 프로그램 탑재가 가능한 FULL HD블루레이 제작 사업을 시작한다고 밝혔다.


송기만 한국유비쿼터스 대표는 “올해 하반기부터 PS3 및 LG, 삼성전자의 블루레이 플레이어의 본격적인 출시로 국내에도 블루레이에 대한 수요가 점차 늘어나고 있다”며 “내년에는 가격 하락으로 본격적인 블루레이 시장이 형성 될 것으로 본다”고 전망했다. 한국유비쿼터스는 방송, 영화분야 블루레이 제작 외에 블루레이 대량복사인 프레싱 사업도 함께 시작한다.


한국유비쿼터스는 지난 1월 KBS아트비전을 통해 문화재청 블루레이 타이틀을 제작 했고 8월에는 중국 삼성전자의 PDP 레퍼런스용 블루레이도 제작한 바 있다. 블루레이란 신개념 고밀도 미디어로 기존의 디지털 비디오 디스크(DVD)보다 6배 이상 화질이 좋은 FULL HD 영상과 더욱 많은 데이터를 저장할 수 있는 차세대 광디스크 규격을 말한다.

Ubiquitous Korea, Push into the Blu-ray Authoring research and development Business

Korea Ubiquitous(CEO: Song, Ki-Man), the multimedia company announced in December 7, 2009 that they turned to FULL HD Blu-lay Authoring research and development business that available to load program.

Ki-Man Song, CEO of Korea Ubiquitous said “Demand growing for Blu-ray in domestic market through introduction of Blu-ray Player by PS3, LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics from second half of this year.” And he prospected as “It will become demand Blu-ray market from next year by the reason of the low market price.” Korea Ubiquitous begins Pressing business for bulk reproduction with their current business-Broadcasting and Film Blu-ray production.

Korea Ubiquitous produced Blu-ray title for the Cultural Properties Administration through KBS(Korea Broadcasting System) Art Vision on last January and also in August this year they provide Samsung Electronics China Blu-ray for PDP reference purpose. Blu-ray is a new high-density media and the next-generation optical disk standard and it provide FULL HD quality video 6 times more than a existing digital video disk(DVD) and can store more data.
